The GEOValue initiative advanced the understanding and measurement of the societal benefits of Earth observations by bringing together an international community focused on the socio-economic value of geospatial information for decision-making. Organizations such as the USGS, NOAA, Four Bridges, and EARSC contributed to this effort. In particular, EARSC carried out the Sentinel Benefits Study for ESA under the EU-funded Copernicus Programme, providing concrete findings that supported and informed workshops organized within the GEOValue framework.
