The side event on the value of Earth Observation explored the economic benefits derived from the use of EO data and services. Participants also discussed broader societal impacts, including improvements in environmental monitoring and management. Various analytical approaches were considered, building on insights from a workshop held the previous year that had focused on the value chain approach, incorporating thematic, market, product, and geographical baselines. It was ultimately decided to merge the two side events to examine value from a regional perspective.
